Avirbhava Mahotsava of Srila BP Puri Gosvami Maharaja
On Sunday 17th October, Srila Narasingha Maharaja conducted a program at Sriman Mukunda Dasa Adhikari's residence in Bangalore, commemorating the appearance day of Srila Bhakti Pramoda Puri Gosvami Maharaja. Maharaja spoke from Srila Puri Maharaja's autobiography and elaborated on various points in the article.

In the morning at Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha, the devotees offered arati and puspanjali to Srila Puri Maharaja, followed by a class by Srila Visnu Maharaja given from Srila Puri Maharaja's book 'The Heart of a Vaishnava.' The devotees later honored a feast in honor of the auspicious occasion. In the evening Giri Maharaja also gave a short lecture to the guests and devotees on the glories of Srila Puri Gosvami.

Evolution of Theism Reprinted
The book, 'Evolution of Theism' by Srila Narasingha Maharaja has been reprinted by Gosai Publishers. The book delineates the progressive evolution of theistic thought starting from Lord Buddha and Adi Sankara to the great Vaisnava acaryas Ramanuja and Madhva, culminating in the appearance of Sri Caitanyadeva and His philosophy of acintya-bhedabheda tattva.

Visvarupa-mahotsava: The Sannyasa Anniversary of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Svami Prabhupada
Tuesday 28th September marked the 45th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada's acceptance of the sannyasa order. Devotees of the matha celebrated this event by having bhajanas and a class in front of Srila Prabhupada's puspa-samadhi in the evening.

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura's Avirbhava-tithi
The appearance day of Srila Satcidananda Bhaktivinoda Thakura was observed at Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha on Monday 27th September.

In the early morning, puspanjali and arati were offered to Srila Bhaktivinoda and a special class was givens by Bhakti Vijnana Giri Maharaja on the divine life and contributions of Bhaktivinoda Thakura. At midday, a feast was offered in honor of Srila Bhaktivinoda and in the evening Haridasa Babaji Maharaja and the devotees sang bhajanas in glorification of the Thakura.

 Sri Radhastami Mahotsava
Srimati Radharani’s appearance day was celebrated on 22nd September here at the asrama. As Radharani is known as ‘Nilambari’ (She who is adorned in blue), it was fitting that the Deities wore beautiful blue clothes for the occasion. The two pujaris, Kirtanananda Dasa and Gaura-gopala Dasa elaborately decorated the altar with garlands. At 8:00 am after the darsana-arati, Giri Maharaja spoke on the glories of Srimati Radharani elaborating on the verse from Caitanya-candramrta by Srila Prabodhananda Sarasvati.

yatha yatha gaura-padaravinde vindeta bhaktim krta punya rasih
tatha tathot sarpati hrdya-kasmad radha-padambhoja sudhambu rasih

“One who is extremely fortunate may get the mercy of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. As much as one can devote his full attention to the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya, to that extent he will be able to taste the nectarean service of the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani.”

After the class, all the devotees, including the children, went to the Deity kitchen and enthusiastically cooked about 30 items for the pleasure of Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha-Madhava. At 12:30 the devotees sang the bhoga-arati song and offered arati to the Deities. All the devotees then gathered in the prasadam hall to honor Srimati Radharani’s remnants.

Srila Prabhupada's 108th Avirbhava-Tithi Maha-mahotsava
The 108th holy appearance day of His Divine Grace Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Svami Prabhupada was celebrated at Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha.

Srila Prabhupada's puspa-samadhi was profusely decorated with flowers in the morning during which time devotees in the kitchen also cooked various items to offer to His Divine Grace.

At 10:30 am there was puspanjali and arati to Srila Prabhupada. Srila Narasingha Maharaja led the devotees in singing 'Sri Guru Carana-padma' by Narottama Dasa Thakura while Srila Visnu Maharaja offered the arati.

The assembled devotees then sat down to hear Srila Visnu Maharaja speak on guru-tattva. Maharaja elaborated on Srila Prabhupada's Vyasa-puja offering to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura that he wrote in 1936.

Then, Srila Narasingha Maharaja sang 'Ohe Vaisnava Thakura' and summarized Srila Prabhupada's prakrta-lila, explaining various lilas of his life in the context of Gaudiya Vaisnava epistemology. His lecture was simultaneously translated into Kannada by Nanda-kisora Dasa.

After the program, all the devotees honored a feast in honor of Srila Prabhupada's divine advent in this world.

Sri Vyasa-puja of Srila Narasingha Maharaja
Srila Narasingha Maharaja's Vyasa-puja celebrations were observed by all disciples and well-wishers on Sunday 12th September.

Before the program began, H.H. Bhakti Vijnana Giri Maharaja and Nanda-kisora Dasa performed the adhivasa-puja by first installing the parampara-acaryas, Visvaksena, Vyasadeva, and the 4 Kumaras in the maha-kumbha and then offering various auspicious items to His Divine Grace.

Kunjavihari Dasa led the devotees in singing 'Gurudeva! Krpa Bindu Diya' and Srila Narasingha Maharaja was presented with this years Vyasa-puja book. Srila Narasingha Maharaja then briefly spoke on the meaning of Vyasa-puja and the qualification to sit on the seat of Vyasadeva.

Offerings were read by Srila Visnu Maharaja, Haridasa Babaji Maharaja, Giri Maharaja, Sri Gopala Dasa, Vaisnavananda Dasa and other devotees.

Towards the end of the program there were simultaneous aratis to Srila Narasingha Maharaja and to Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhava as the devotees sang the Guruvastakam and offered puspanjali to the lotus-feet of His Divine Grace. All the devotees then honored mahaprasadam.

Sri Krsna Janmastami Mahotsava
The appearance of Lord Sri Krsna was celebrated at Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha on Tuesday 7th September.

Many congregation members from Mysore, Mandya and Bangalore arrived a few days before Janmastami to help prepare for the festivities.

After decorating the temples, devotees sat down to hear Srila Narasingha Maharaja speak on the pastimes of Lord Krsna and His divine appearance. Srila Narasingha Maharaja explained how Sri Krsna never leaves Vrndavana and the exclusivity of the devotional sentiments shown by the residents of Vraja.

After the class, H.H. Haridasa Babaji Maharaja and Vamanadeva Dasa led bhajanas until 2:30 when nagesvaram was played for the Deities pleasure. This was followed by the abhiseka of Lord Govinda Who was bathed in many substances, such as milk, ghee, honey and water from different kundas in Vrndavana, while the nagesvaram continued.

The abhiseka ceremony was followed by a palki (palanquin) procession where devotees carried the Deities of Sri Sri Gandharvika-Kanaka Govinda-sundara accompanied by nagesvaram, flute and the chanting of the Holy Names.

Srila Narasingha Maharaja led a very enthusiastic crowd in the kirtana while Srila Visnu Maharaja offered the arati to their Lordships at 7:00 pm.

After the arati, there was a grand firework display and a flute recital by Murali Krsna Dasa.

The program continued with uninterrupted bhajanas until 11:30 pm when 120 bhoga preparations were offered to the Lord. At 12:00 pm Srila Narasingha Maharaja offered the midnight arati to Sri Sri Radhika Madhava-sundara, following which all the assembled devotees honored a sumptuous prasadam feast.

This years Sri Krsna Janmastami celebrations was the biggest yet for the asrama. Approximately 8,000 guests had the good fortune of taking the Lord's prasadam.
