2001 Kumbha Mela
Kumbha Mela, undoubtedly the biggest religious gathering in the world, attracts multitudes of sadhus and pilgrims from all over India. Kumbha Mela also draws media coverage from all over the world. During the 2001 event, it is expected that aproximately 70,000,000 people will gather there for the main bathing days on Purnima, Makara Sankranti, Amavasya and Maha-Sivaratri.

On 2nd January 2001, a party from Sri Narasingha Caitanya Matha will be leaving for the Maha Kumbha Mela in Prayaga, U.P. The party will consist of B. A. Tridandi , Swami Madhava, B. V. Giri and Sudarsana Eyingar.

Kumbha MelaThe party will be staying at the Kumbha Mela site for several weeks in order to shoot footage for the upcoming video-documentary series 'The Veda Files.' They will then go on to film in the holy city of Varanasi before returning home to Govindaji Gardens.

In 1989, the previous Maha-kumbha-mela was attended in order to write an article for 'Clarion Call' magazine, the result was a 112-page publication consisting of 86 color photographs and a highly informative text.
